OCR Level 7 Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia
The OCR Level 7 Diploma in Assessing and Teaching Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) has been developed to recognise candidates’ skills, knowledge and understanding as specialist teachers and their ability to carry out diagnostic assessments, write reports and deliver effective teaching sessions to learners with dyslexia and other learning difficulties affecting literacy and numeracy.
During Summer 2014 Dittas Limited are offering a Blended Learning, Holiday Version of the OCR Level 7 Diploma in Assessing and Teaching Learners with SpLD
This will involve a combination of filmed lectures, which you view on your computer, and 9 days of lectures at a Central London Location (Seven of these days will be during the summer holidays of 2014, with two further days during early 2015). During the week of summer lectures candidates will be required to complete an hour’s additional study each night.
The summer dates are Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July and Monday 28th July to Friday 1st August.
Options and Fees
Full Diploma £3500 (plus VAT) This is for candidates who already hold the OCR Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Teaching Learners with SpLD and want to gain the skills to assess learners and formally diagnose dyslexia in addition to extending their skills and knowledge to support learners in another phase of education or with a different Specific Learning Difficulty. On completion of the course, successful candidates can apply to The British Dyslexia Association for AMBDA Status and their relevant professional association to be for a SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate.( APC) *
Practising Certificate Option £2900 (plus VAT) This is for candidates who already hold the OCR Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Teaching Learners with SpLD who want to gain the skills to assess learners and formally diagnose dyslexia. On completion of units 2 and 3, successful candidates can apply to their relevant professional association to be issued with a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate. *
The above prices assume the OCR Level 5 qualification was achieved since 2011 as if the candidate has a recent Level 5 qualification, accreditation for prior learning (APL) can been given for the previous two teaching practices (unit 4 and 5). If the OCR Level 5 qualification is more than 3 years old APL is not possible and an additional fee will be required to cover the cost of the tuition and supervision associated with the two Teaching Practices**.
